Massive CF-Jrun log files...

I've just checked my log files because I’ve been getting a jrun error:

'Faulting application jrun.exe'

I was really surprised to find that my ‘coldfusion-out.log’ file (APPAPTH\CFusionMX7\runtime\logs) was a massive 8 gig.  errr... what the hell..  I had to stop CF to delete the file so I can then open the file in the near future, I don’t think notepad can handle 8 gig files very well?  From what I can see my setting in CF admin had the max log size limited to 5000kb?

Anyway hopefully now I’ll be able to keep an eye on the log file to see if I can find a solution to the 'Faulting application’ error.

Tom's Gravatar TextPad should open that file just fine. Not opened an 8GB file yet. Though a 5GB opened. Took awhile.

Douglas Knudsen's Gravatar the log settings in CFAdmin do not control the JRun logs, only the CF ones. In the multi-server full on JRun install of CF, you can tweak a XML file to setup log rollover. This file is located
JRun4\servers\cfusion\SERVER-INF\jrun.xml in the full JRun install. I'm willing to bet this file exists somewhere in your standalone install. Unfortunately there is no way to set up log file rollover with <servername>-out.log and <servername>-err.log files.

Steven Erat's Gravatar This is bug 59486 scheduled to be fixed in JRun 4.5.

Once again Cheers
