Jonathan Street's Gravatar Does it actually work out cheaper than getting them separately elsewhere? With the US$ so weak at the moment it doesn't look that way. With a .com available for as little as $8.88 (lets say about £5) and a .co.uk from 123-reg.co.uk for £2.59 (admittedly the best I've seen recently) a small saving can be made.

The extra hassle may not be worth it if you're just getting the one domain but if you want to register several then the savings could justify the extra time.

Russ Michaels's Gravatar plus there is a catch. the registrations are yearly, but .uk domains can only be registered 2 yearly. So while you may get 1 year free, you still have to pay for the 2nd by the looks of it.
Sldo be wary of cheap registrars, especially with .uk domains, as you will often have troubles transferring your domain if you ever need to. I don't know about 123-reg, but UK2 are notorious for this.
It is a completely automated system and no-one is contactable, and thus no-one responds to requests to retag domains.
