Quickly editing your hosts file
Thanks to Adrian Lynch (who may be blogging this soon) here is a quick way to edit your hosts files for windows.
Open up notepad and enter the following text:
delay load mscorlib.dll - .net error
I've been spending this afternoon fixing my .NET install due to the following error:
delay load mscorlib.dll
I've no idea why this suddenly got corrupt but due to the fact that some of my software requires .NET to run it was a real pain. I first tried downloading the repair pack but this didn't help so I had to do the manual repair listed here. It's not the best Sunday job I've had, I was planning to do some work on cfCommere
VMware: Could not open virtual machine
I've been playing with VMware the last couple of days, and it's really cool. Today though i had an issue when trying to start up one of my VMs, I got the error:
Could not open virtual machine... This virtual machine appears to be in use.
The solution is rather simple:
TRAC permissions: Groups
After talking with Stephen Moretti he made me realise that setting up groups in TRAC is a lot quicker than setting up permissions for each users. This helps if you have several developers on a project.
So how does one do it
In the TRAC admin area where you set up user permissions - one of the little forms on the right allows you to add groups.FTP access permissions with IIS on Windows and virtual directories
I've been having a few issues with users being able to access other folder on one of my server. This is a BIG security issues, and it's taken me a little while to figure out what was going on. It turns out to be a permissions issue.

SEO and URL submission
A friend of mine was approached by a "SEO" company offering link submission and backward links to their website for a set fee. He asked me if I thought it was worth it and my short answer is no! Firefox keeps crashing
For quite a while now I've been getting really annoyed that Firefox keeps crashing. I have to say that I need to put the blame down to the plug-ins rather that Firefox.

Want a free SVN pluin for Dreamweaver
Will Wilson has just found a nice FREE plugin for Dreamweaver. It's still in development by the look of it but it does what you need.
UI Access: Access SVN functionality from within the Dreamweaver IDE. This plugin will insert a SVN menu, which provides access to the basic functionality.
